April 21st, 2010

The exra hours of corporate prayer both in Sydney and Singapore during Friday all night has been good. There is always a flow that comes from an all night with God that lasts for weeks. How wonderful if there could be an all night every week. That day will come together with a growth towards 24 hour worship. Preceding the period of the greatest outpouring of the Spirit will be a time when people are spiritually drawn into the secret places of the Most High and spend their hours and days in the presence of God. Simeon and Anna the prophetess spent quality time with God in prayers before the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to redeem the world (Luke 2). They were only a sample of people who did so and were mentioned purely because they witness the circumcision of our Lord Jesus as a baby. There were thousands of people who had been waiting for the coming of the Messiah in fastings and prayers. Anna herself served God with fastings and prayers (Luke 2:37). The ministry of serving the Lord with fastings and prayers is very much neglected in our modern churches. Yet, it is one of the most important ministries if we are to see the return of the Lord for the glorious church. Where are the thousands of men and women whom God called to serve Him with fastings and prayers? Most of them are discouraged and down and have no place in modern churches with their emphasis on a light feel-good Christianity with only minutes for God and maximum time for themselves. There need to first be a revival of fasting and prayer. A call that goes out to sound the alarm gathering God’s people to fast and pray (Joel 2:1, 12). Let us blow the trumpet and call people to serve God with fasting and prayer (Joel 2:15). It is time to fast and pray and humble ourselves before God. For those who preach wrongly that fasting has been done aways with, note that it is still practiced in the New Testament church and it preceded the call of Paul to the Gentiles (without which none of us Gentiles would have been saved) (Acts 13:1-2). Paul served God often with fastings (2 Corinthians 11:27). Preachers who don’t preach on fasting and prayer (sometimes calling it works when fasting in itself is a work of grace) do not do so purely because they themselves do not fast and pray. They are lazy and rely merely on their fivefold gifting to get by in the ministry and in their own lives. How can they teach fasting when they themselves do not fast and pray? This is the Laodecian age when people and preachers are more concern about outward things and wealth than growing spiritually in God. Such preachers are Laodecian preachers, diluting the Word of God and and neglectign the weightier matters of the gospel. Jesus Himself said that the days WILL COME when the bridegroom is taken away (Jesus ascended to heaven after His resurrection) and then they WILL fast (Matthew 9:15). It is time to sound the call to fast and pray to seek our God and Father, to glorify our Lord Jesus, to yield to the Holy Spirit.

Papa God, we pray that You would continue to teach all our loved ones, partners and friends of the ministry, students and members of Your body the art of fasting and prayer. In Jesus Name. Amen.

April 16th, 2010

Have been in Singapore since Wednesday and now (Friday) looking forward to another all night prayer. Will be my third one this month. It is good to be able to seek God and spend quality and quantity time with Him. There is no short cut to growing in Him, only just seeking His face and being with Him is the key of all keys. The Lord has been kind and gracious in allowing us to have such wonderful times in His presence. No two all-nights are the same yet it is always the same Spirit of God who leads and guides. So many deep spiritual principles are invoked in an all night prayer: pouring forth of our souls before God, waiting on God, ministering unto Him, groaning and praying in the Spirit, prevailing prayer, etc. Of course, when we also fast and seek His face, it is even more precious and wonderful.

We need to ask the Lord for rain, in the time of the latter rain (Zechariah 10:1). Daniel knew that the prophecies of Jeremiah needed to be fulfilled and prayed, fast and sought God to bring its fulfilment (Daniel 9). The apostles and disciples waited on the Lord before Pentecost because Jesus said that they needed to be clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49). Knowing a predicted event does not exempt us from prayer. Even Jesus, who foreknew of His resurrection, still wrestled in prayer in the garden of Gethesemane (Hebrews 5:7). Many prophecies have been announced of this great and mighty revival that is coming in the 21st century. Yet we still need to enter the prayer closet and wait upon God like the disciples did in the book of Acts.

Papa God, give us the strength and energy to prevail and wait upon You, to tarry until we are once again endued with the power of the Holy Spirit. Cause us to be able to pray forth and pour out our souls e

April 12th, 2010

We are almost there in terms of website migration to the new hosting facilities. We thank everyone for their patience as we re-organized to have more abilities to allow more people to access all the teachings. We also want to thank all the web experts and managers who have been helping us along in this process, the Lord bless each of you mightily in His abundant grace.

Time sure flies, as I will be on the plane again in two days back to Singapore for the long trip. The Lord has been good and I hae especially enjoyed the all night prayers in both Sydney (last Friday) and in Singapore (coming up this Friday again). Sometimes, I do wish for the prayer meetings to go on even longer but I will wait until the time comes when we have 24 hours praise and worship, and 24 hours prayer. That would be wonderful. It is good to pray and seek the Lord for hours and hours but it is even more greater to be able to seek His face together with others who are also hungry for God. I hope that many people would make the all night prayers or long ‘tarrying ‘ meetings or meetings that are of the nature of Acts 13:1-3 where we fast and pray just to minister to the Lord. It is challenging in our modern times of fast speed convenience but there is nothing like and old time revival of purely seeking God’s face for days in a row.

Spiritual hunger is a prequisite to many things in spiritual life. Only those who seek will find, those who ask shall receive and those who knock it shall be opened unto them. Blessed indeed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Within each one of us is a certain level of hunger for God and for many people it is not because they do not have a hunger or desire for God, but rather that they do not yield to this thirst within them for the reality and presence of God. It is for us to yield to this stirring desires for God, for they are the fires kindled by the Holy Spirit within us. If we do not yield to these little promptings, we cannot expect more things from God. We must yield to these stirrings of the Holy Spirit and then God will give us more manifestations of His love and presence. To those who are faithful in little things, God will give even more. However, like the voice of God that spoke from heaven declaring that He will be glorified (John 12:28-29), not all hear the voice and some of those who hear it siad it thundered while others said that an angel spoke. The same voice but so many ways of hearing it. The Holy Spirit is doing the same stirrings in our heart to seek God and love God but not all are heeding to His soft gentle promptings. We need to obey His promptings that direct us towards God in order for us to see more of the glory of God.

Papa God, we continue to pray that You will give all of our loved ones, friends and partners in the ministry, students and members of Your church as sensitiveness to the gentle and soft promptings of the Holy Spirit that we may know You and love You and see all the fullness of Your glory. In Jesus Name. Amen.

8th to 9th April 2010

April 9th, 2010

Firstly, apologies for those accessing the websites and couldn’t download some files as we are still in the process of moving the hosting of our domains. The present host has insufficient capacity and we are in the process of moving all our websites and domain to a different host (will complete by end of next month or so). In the mean time we apologise for the inconveniences of not having full capacity of audios and videos (especially the videos that have taken much of the bandwidth space). All our volunteer website advisers and managers are working hard behind the scene and we thank God for all the good work done to at least get the sites up and running.

In the meantime, I am looking forward to the all night prayer tonight (9th April). Spending many, many hours in the presence of God together with other believers has always been the highlight of my days. There is no short cut to revival. It is always back to good old fasting and prayer. It is self evident throughout the whole Old Testament and it is self evident in the book of Acts and in Paul’s writings. The keys of fasting and prayer are the keys that unlocked the spiritual dimensions. Sorry, no room for lazy Christians who want everything serve to them on a silver platter. And it has nothing to do with works; it purely has to do with the fact that if you love God, you want to spend more time with Him. And since God is a spirit and not flesh and blood (with the exception of Jesus who is God manifest in the flesh), it should be obvious to all that fasting is a logical conquest of the body submitting to our spirit’s desire and love and pursuit of God. We will broadcast the all night prayer one day as we develop the facilities for it but now, those who like to can join us in the spirit and pray around the same time. Or have tarrying meetings with your own little group of those who love God and want to spend more time with Him. Love and waiting on God are directly related through the verses of Isaiah 64:4 and 1 Corinthians 2:9; where the word ;where the word ‘wait’ in the OT is translated ‘love’ by Paul in his quote of that same verse. And up to this day, indeed, eye has not seen nor ear heard all that God has prepared for those who love Him.

Papa God, as we gather tonight in all night prayer in Sydney, we pray that all our loved ones, partners and friends of the ministry, students and members of the body of Christ would receive the overflow of all our prayers and time spend with You. We love You Father and just want to be with You. In Jesus Name. Amen.

28th March to April 7th 2010

April 7th, 2010

Time certainly flies when one is busy in the Lord’s vineyard. Between my last blog, I had come back from Singapore, gone back and then returned again last Sunday to Sydney. I do my best not to write unless I really do have something to write about. There are major changes on the spiritual climate of some Asian countries which some men and women of God have picked up. It will be clear and demonstrated over the next few months as the natural picks up the spiritual activities. In the meantime, the Spirit is increasing in His flow as more prayers are made both in Singapore and Australia for the move of God. The purposes of God are being fulfilled and His plans are being unveiled. There has been a lot of major changes since the forty day fast at the beginning of this year and I find myself entering into a new spiritual dimension that I have not experienced before. Most of all, there is a greater awareness of His love than was before and with it is a sense of contriteness, of wanting to just be at God’s throne room of grace, love and power, waiting upon Him than ever before. In terms of all night prayer, I am spending more time in that with this month of April when I would be leading two all nights in Singapore and one in Sydney. Soon it will be every Friday for me, and that would definitely be a plus and a bonus. There is nothing as wonderful as being saturated in prayer, and of all prayer meetings, I enjoy all nights the best as we can just pray on and on for hours without stopping until the day time. Everything that God has ever done on earth has been birthed in prayer, and the coming revival is no different. We need to spend quality time in His presence, just waiting on Him and sitting at His feet. The Spirit of prayer has indeed increased in our midst and we pray that this same Spirit of prayer would be  flowing into the lives of each of those that are a part of this ministry and the churches associated.

Papa God, we pray that this Spirit of prayer would come upon all our loved ones, partners and friends of the ministry, students and members of your church in Jesus Name. Amen.

17th to 27th March 2010

March 27th, 2010

Wow, this has been  another long break from this blog, while I was in Singapore. Both our websites petertan.net and cathedralofglory.com was down through overload. We will be looking into upgrading the setup so that we have sufficient bandwidth and also moving to look into video streaming over the next couple of months, which would mean that videos would play faster and clearer. Our apologies for the downtime but all our web managers have been working overtime to get the sites up again and we thank each of you for your patience.

In the meantime, it has been a busy week for me here in Singapore; also spent two nights in Sabah over the last week. All audios and videos will soon be online. It has been a great week of flowing in the Spirit and just spending time with Him in between the ministry time. In Singapore we will be moving the overnights (which is once a month on Saturday) to Fridays and have it twice a month (usually 1st week and third week). Of all the meetings, I always enjoyed the all night prayers as that is when we could spend many hours in the presence of God. I do love ministry but there is still nothing like coming into God’s presence not to receive but to give Him of our love and our heart’s adoration. So now I will be able to enjoy three overnights a month (two in Singapore and one in Sydney). At some point we will be having life broadcast on all nights and all meetings so that all who have internet access can join us; we are still working through all the various technologies and will get there soon.

In the Spiritual World, there is a lot of preparation of people coming and going. Many will be finishing their assignments on earth and leaving one by one as the whole earth (spiritual and natural) goes through a major transition that affects every dimension: the church world, political world, economic world, natural world, social world, etc. It is like a major tectonic shift that places all things in a new paradigm. The world moved into the nuclear age at the end of the second world war, then it moved into the internet age that now affects the lives of every person on earth, there is a spiritual shift that will make people yearn for the spiritual answers that they cannot get from the natural or intellectual or social realm. The next shift is already happening and we are in the midst of a major transition. What it is will be slowly defined as we enter into it. It is now ten years into the 21st century without a major revival like that of Asuza street. Many have tried to recall the glory of Asuza but it is all history now; we need to hear God’s voice in the now and flow with Him in what He wants to do. Prayer has been neglected in many quarters of Christianity as Christianity experienced growth and boom in the past 100 years. Now it is time for another season of travail and prayer as the church looks to move into a new dimension. It is time to dust the cobwebs of our prayer closets and enter into the presence of God and spend time with Him. The call to prayer is already sounded and the angels of God are calling those who hear His voice into the chambers. Another season of refreshing is coming upon us and we need to enter into His secret place of the Most High to ride this wave (Acts 3:19).

Papa God, we pray that you continue to draw the heart strings of all our loved ones, friends and partners of the ministry, students and members of Your church into the prayer chamber to spend time with You. As they respond, show them Your grace and love and presence that would inspire them to remain in Your presence and linger longer until You finish the good work within them. In Jesus Name Amen.

1st to 16th March 2010

March 16th, 2010

Wow, this has been a long two weeks away from blogging. We had to thoroughly clean this site as those who were logging on were getting virus warnings. Thank you to the web managers who have helped us throughout the past weeks. The two weeks pass quickly in Sydney with overnight prayer and various meetings, and here again, I am about to leave for a ten day trip to Singapore. God has been good and increasing His presence of love and joy as time is spent in His presence. Many people have asked what it is like to meet Jesus in vision or in the Spiritual realm. It is like meeting perfection, like meeting perfect light, perfect love, perfect wisdom. There is nothing which He does not know. He knows us better than we know ourselves. In Him, there is no shadow of turning, no condemnation, only perfect love and perfect acceptance. Imagine, the most perfect love possible in your life and it would pale in shadow to the love of Jesus. Imagine the most brightest light and it would be darkness in comparison to His light. As we behold Him, so are we transformed (2 Corinthians 3:18). Many people do not really know God or Jesus for who He is. We are the reflection of the God we really know. Who we are is the sum of who we see God to be. Society, cultures, traditions have coloured our picture of God and all His attributes. We need to be able to see God for who He is. And that is easier said than done. For by human nature, we tend to limit God and made of objects and things around us into the gods we worship. Christians might not worship physical idols today but we are warned not to have idolatry in our hearts (1 John 5:21). Anything within our belief system that replace with the Truth of who God really is, is an idol in our hearts. Our concepts of God can be the very limiting factor to us truly knowing God especially if we are unwilling to give them up in place of the God that the Bible reveals Himself to be. Take a simple example of love: our understanding of what love is and can be is shaped by our experiences, family, culture, traditions and eduation. It takes the love of Jesus at the cross to break down all these barriers. By default, humans always walk in conditional love, rare are those who have set their hearts to love others unconditionally. In fact, many Christians even love God conditional, let alone telling them to love others unconditionally. We all have so much more to grow into God and to know God for who He is, that God is love, and he that abideth in love abides in God, and God in Him (1 John 4:16).

Papa God, we pray that you would continue to reveal Your unconditional love to us. We pray that this love would be powerfully revealed to all our loved ones, friends and partners in the ministry, students and members of Your church. In Jesus Name.

23rd to 28th February 2010

March 1st, 2010

Arrived back yesterday from Singapore (27th). Had a busy week in Singapore, counselling, doign all the pastoral stuff, re-organizing some meetings for the next few months (where we will be doing Bible study on Thursdays and moving the Sat all night prayer to Fridays, etc.). Always a lot of things to pray through and meditate through and finally consult with the representative leaders before implementing a decision. It is always so important to not just make a decision top-down but to consult with the people and the leaders even if there is some clear direction from the Lord. The Lord’s direction is always mitigated by the flow of the people’s ability to follow after the Lord in terms of methodology and timing. A good leader must listen to the people at the grassroots and be taking care of even the one sheep gone astray from the ninety-nine. Board meetings are, of course, never run by Thus says the Lord but rather by ‘it feels good to the Holy Spirit and to us” (Acts 15). Consultation has been the pattern of David (he consulted with the leaders before bringing in the ark), in the church patern in the book of Acts 6 and Acts 15. Beign able to see visions, hear God and speak with the angels does not exempt us from the need to always flow with the level of every sheep. A good leader and shepherd can sense where the heart of the people are and nudges the sheep in the right direction. In my recent trip, I have been asked a lot about Christians and their local churches and the following summarizes my thoughts:

1. One can never grow beyond the level of the leader one follows. A spiritual leader must thus have more insights in God, more love, more grace, more faith, more everything. He receives it by lookign to the Lord who has inexhaustible supply.

2. God does lead and plant us into the right church and fellowship. The right church is always the one that helps you to grow to know God. Every one is at different levels and so every denomination and church would have their place for people of varying levels.

3. Being part of the right fellowship does help one to move into the right phase in spiritual and natural life. Imagine if Paul did not know Barnabas, or Paul not having the local church in Acts 11 and 13:1-3; Paul woudl not be where he is. Yet, Paul also sought to have the right hand of fellowship with the apostles in Jerusalem (Galatians 2).

4. In Christ, He does bring us to make the right friends and spiritual partners. What is David without his mighty men or the mighty men without David? What is Paul without Barnabas or Barnabas without Paul? James and John and Peter and Andrew took their natural partnership of fishermen into the spiritual partnership of the church. They were united in their destinies together as among the twelve but first met as fishing partners. Remarkable what the angels were doing working in the background to bring such people together.

I am in Sydney for today and tomorrow and will be back in Singapore by Wednesday night. This is one of the most hectic and busy weeks. Spiritually, felt very energized by the love of the Lord. It is wonderful to always commune with Him each day. The remarkable thing is that although the physical world is so hectic, in the spiritual everything is at rest and in peace – it is all completed since the forty day fast. I think the natural is rushing to catch up with the completed picture in the spiritual realm. What a quiet and repose it is in the spiritual world. How different it is sometimes from the physical. There is a sense of completion in the spiritual world that is beign translated into the natural.

Papa God, we continue to pray for all our loved ones, friends and partners of the ministry, students and members of Your church that Your supernatural grace will be upon each one as the spiritual breakthoughs become manifest upon the earth. Reveal thyself mightily to each and bring all into Your rest. In Jesus Name.

17th to 22nd February 2010

February 22nd, 2010

Another rapid flow of days, landed in Singapore on Wednesday, ministered Thursday, Friday, Saturday plus all night. Just rested today (Sunday) and looking forward to the leaders’ training session on Monday night. Had an interesting encounter on Thursday night and Friday night in the early hours of the morning in regard to the spiritual forces at work in Asian regions.

The all night prayer on Saturday night was another wonderful time; lots of spiritual acitivities and always have a wonderful breakthrough towards the end of the prayer in the morning. It set me thinking about the spiritual wrestlings that Paul must have experienced when he wrote Ephesians 6:12. Paul speaks of fighting beasts in Ephesus, an interesting analogy which can refer to men or spiritual realm (1 Corinthians 15:32). Much of what takes place in the physical realm is the result of the activities in the invisible spiritual realm (Hebrews 11:3). Throughout the 40 day fast and also after, there has been so much things happening that I could hardly keep up. Firstly, there were the angelic hosts who were getting ready for the next wave of blessing, then there were more personal encounters of future event revelations that were shown, also there was the angelic encounter speaking of something that he was about to do in certain areas that were prayed before God, then there was the spiritual wrestling in Asia of spiritual forces. Wow, this makes physical life so tame in comparison to the activities taking place in the heavenlies. I guess we will see the results of these acitivites in a short time to come. Although Jesus has conquered all and in Him rests all authority, we are to exercise our authority delegated from Him. The believers in every nation of the world must exercised their God-given authority to prevail in the spiritual. the warfare is NEVER in the natural, only in the spiritual. Sometimes, it is just a matter of holding fast to the authority and power of God like Moses holding forth his rod. One has to hold it high until the enemy is defeated (Exodus 17:8-16)

Papa God, we continue to hold the authority of Christ high over the spiritual realms in which we live, especially over all our loved ones, friends and partners in the ministry, students and members of Your body in Jesus Name. Amen. Release the flow of divine authority over each life In Jesus Name.

7th to 16th February 2010

February 17th, 2010

Wow, a lot has happened since these ten days. Firstly, this whole blog site had to be checked through by our ministry web experts who have been advising and helping us in going onto the web. It had to be cleaned out as we do also get a lot of spam mail. Hopefully one day, when we are able to, we will be able to have better control of our blog site (rather than relying on third party free providers of blog sites as we are doing now – a word of thanks to the people who provided this blog software). Also my four year old desktop computer was having hard disk problems and I had to save all my data (about half a terrabyte of data) over to the new computer that I built from parts bought online. It was a lot of physical work as I had to strip the old computer to its bare parts and take the 4 hard drives and attached it one by one to the new computer to salvage and transfer all the data. Praise the Lord no data was lost. A lot of my other unpublished writings and research I am currently doing are in digital format. It took me until the last few days to get up to speed and finally transferred all my settings and data over to the new desktop computer. In the meantime, we also had a lot of activities in Sydney, with the overnight prayer last Friday night, Saturday fellowship (also had church fellowship lunch over the usual Chinese new year reunion), leaders’ training meeting, and the last week of the forty day fast, I wanted some quiet time with God. It had been a great week and now I am heading back to Singapore again for the next 14 days.

Jesus came during the overnight prayer (last day of 40 day fast), spoke some things and we had communion in the morning after the overnight prayer. It was very special for we all prayed for John 17 and covered the whole world in that prayer. A lot of spiritual experiences but I will share them as I am able to digest and understand them more. I love the quiet moments with the Lord and look forward to them all the time; although I do enjoy ministry and fellowship, there is still nothing like being with Jesus alone. I shared a little bit in the Sydney leaders meeting about some of the angelic activities and visions. It was a very interesting night on Monday yesterday. Many people desire to see the Spiritual realm and it seems that after the last experience in 2006, that I had retained the ability to move in and out of the spiritual visions, with much of it as an open vision. For those who have never had visions, don’t worry about it as our life on earth is judged not by visions alone but our obedience to the voice and instructions of God in whatever way He communicates to us. Most people in the natural do not realize that the spiritual is affecting the natural on a daily minute and second by second basis. It is odd to me because sometimes an angel can be standing next to someone and they have no idea at all what is happening. Last week, we did some visitation and I saw one of the guardian angels of a young Christian couple with two children. They lived in a two story house and I saw and angel in one of the rooms upstairs (like X-ray looking through the ceiling of the house as the lounge was downstairs). It seemed that that angel was frequenting that room often because of the amount of prayer and love towards God. The hostess confirmed that it was the room where she always prayed (of which I knew nothing about it in the natural). Before we left the house, the same angel came downstairs and said one word to me, which I delivered to the hosts. Sometimes, I know people wants me to tell them words or prophecies which God shows but it is important never to interrupt what God is doing in each life to train each person to hear Him directly. We are not allowed to say everything that the Lord shows or His angels show. We are only allowed to say what would help them in their progress and walk with God. It is great pastoring the sheep in this manner as like Paul (Colossians 2:5), one can behold the order of the church in the spirit without even naturally being present. It definitely helps to when pastoring two churches in two different continents. My spirit have been busy visiting people and watching over them with the angels and by the permission of God mainly in three countries – Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Also have been to other places especially where the Bible students are in all the world. There is no distance in the spirit realm, everything is as if the person is next to you. For example, I know the struggles of some of the church members in two continents and offer prayers for them like a silent observer. Many of them actually look differently from what they are in the natural. Some of those who are greatly loved by God, have such humility and have no idea as to what great impact their lives are in the spiritual world. Others think too highly of themselves and their flesh sticks out like a sore thumb visible to all angels but not to themselves. Most people have no idea that they are impacting on the spiritual world all the time through their words, thoughts and actions. For example, as I write this now in Sydney, I can see some of the members in Singapore praying and seeking for a certain direction in their lives. And then my spirit comes back to Sydney where I can see the burdens that one member here is carrying in their heart. This year will be a year of great change for this particular member as God arranges the angels to bring forth the calling of God in the life. I know that there will be a potential home going for this person if the person does not find the right path and seed of faith that God has already spoken to this person’s heart. God will always deal directly with each person. He speaks to each person and gives to each person a seed of the Word of God for each episode of a person’s life. No matter what circumstances we face, God has already spoken and we just need to re-discover the Word that God has spoken and placed in our hearts. For this person, God has spoken at least five times through Word, teaching, prophecy, dream, inner voice and Bible reading. With every temptation, God has always provided the way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Generally, most of those who have been coming regularly for all the meetings in Sydney, Singapore, New Zealand will have found that their spiritual lives have progressed greatly within these past one year. In fact, there are many angels that have been released int he midst of the forty day fast who are in charge of accelerating the events in the natural world; orchestrating them to line up with the spiritual order that has already been established.

Papa God, we continue to pray for all our loved ones, friends and partners of the ministry, students and members of the body of Christ, that You would continue to strengthen each one to receive the manifold blessings that You are releasing upon their lives this year. Let the breakthroughs bome forth powerfully over each of these precious lives. In Jesus Name. Amen.
